PILOT LICENCES IN GERMANY

In Germany 114,033 pilot licences were valid on the deadline of December, 31, 96. That are about two perecent less than at the end of 1995 (116324). Private pilots arestill leading in the list (42418 licences) followed by glider pilots (32533) and motorglider pilots (23,588).

The smallest groups are helicopter- (2,551) and balloon-pilots (1,697).

In addition about 8,800 microlight pilots are registered in Germany. The administration of those licences is delegated from the Ministery of Transport to the German Aero Club (DAeC).
